Danielle Cupps is Managing Director of Kinzie Capital Partners and member of the firm’s Investment Committee, where she leads evaluation and execution of investments while maintaining responsibility for management of the firm’s operating activities.
A 20-year veteran of finance and private equity, Dani most recently served as Managing Director, Private Equity at Brown Legacy Group/BLG Capital Advisors, where she executed private equity fund investments and co-investments for a Chicago-based, single-family investment office. Prior to BLG, Dani held director-level positions at The Boeing Company including Chief of Staff to Boeing’s Chief Financial Officer and Director, Corporate Development. In that role, she provided leadership for acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments and joint ventures, and supported Boeing’s broader strategic development initiatives. Dani also worked as Vice President for Code Hennessy and Simmons, LLC where she led due diligence investigations, negotiated acquisition and financing agreements and contributed to the investment management programs for several CHS investments. Prior to CHS, Dani held various positions at Goldman, Sachs & Co. including Associate in the Private Equity Group of the Investment Management Division where Ms. Cupps analyzed partnership and direct investments for a $5 billion global investment fund.
Dani currently serves as a Trustee of XAI Octagon Floating Rate & Alternative Income Term Trust (ticker: XFLT), a publicly-traded closed end fund which seeks attractive total return with an emphasis on income generation across multiple stages of the credit cycle. Dani also is a Director of MetroSquash, one of 19 urban squash programs nationally that provides academic programming, squash instruction, mentoring, college support and career readiness to 250 Chicago area children and young adults. Dani also is Director of the Harvard Club of Chicago, where she serves on the program committee, and a past president of Friends of Lincoln, the fundraising organization for Abraham Lincoln Elementary School.
Dani received her Master’s in Management from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and earned an A.B. in Government from Harvard University.
Dani enjoys reading and travel, and talking about both. A former college athlete, she remains a sports enthusiast. She runs, loves to spend summer days on and around water, and on most weekends, is a devoted fan of youth sports. She lives in Chicago with her husband and three children.
