Suzanne Yoon Q&A:

Describe a recent accomplishment.
My greatest feat of 2020 was Kinzie’s acquisition of Chelsea Lighting during the height of the pandemic. Chelsea Lighting is currently the largest independent lighting and lighting controls distributor serving the New York City market, where it supplies the real estate, design and construction industries. Kinzie’s acquisition poises Chelsea to expand its best-in-class service to customers across the country.

How are you a champion for inclusion and equality?
I continue to open the dialogue about why diversity is so important to commerce. Kinzie mandates that recruitment of C-level management positions at portfolio companies include women and people of color for consideration. This has led to more diversity within the management ranks of Kinzie’s portfolio companies. Kinzie continues to attract and look for diverse talent on our own investment team. In 2020, I was appointed chair of the National Philanthropic Trust.
